WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: This week we will be developing our classroom culture and learning how to work and live in this space together. We will also be reviewing this year's curriculum outline to understand where we're going.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Before we can learn about digital art and design, we need to be able to work together. What we learn this week will lay the foundation for our relationships and mutual behavior expectations and responsibilities.
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will listen, participate in discussion, and fill out a short survey.
It's hard to come to your first day of school. It takes bravery. You've already made a commitment to your education and I appreciate you!
I reserve the right to change your assigned seat at any moment for any reason.
If you like where you are currently seated, BE COOL.
If you need accommodations for where you need to be seated, let me know.
You can apply artistic principles to improve everyday life.
Building artistic habits enhances your problem solving, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
Keeping up an artistic practice improves test scores in math and science.
Plus it's relaxing
Respect is the basis for a peaceful coexistence.
Without respect everyone must enforce their own honor
Most conflicts grow out of defending an injured sense of personal honor.
People talk a lot about respect, but the word means different things to different people.
